Cat has taken charge of the Southern Exposure broadcasts,
and has already run some lively sessions in Carterton &
Featherston.
The southern broadcasts have been very successful
and look like bedding in for the long term. Although we have
conducted these as pre-recorded sessions, we have finally
completed exhaustive tests with The Lynchbox and are
poised to go live from the central and southern communities
later this month.
"The Lynchbox?" you ask.
Yes, our friendly cybergeek John Lynch has perfected an internet-based
remote broadcasting gadget that allows us to transmit live
from just about anywhere at the click of the aforementioned
mouse. This is the greatest development in inter-spacial,
multi-temporal communication since the Tardis.
We are grateful to Eastern & Central
Community Trust for granting us the funds to train our
central and southern broadcasters to handle this fabbo technology
and to develop their programmes to the highest level.
Arrow FM maintained its customary presence
at the Origins Festival & Waitangi Day Celebrations
in QE2 Park on (surprise!) Waitangi Day. Michael, Veronika
& Cat provided a stream of blather relieved by the occasional
passing broadcaster (Jennifer, Pete, etc.) and vox pops from
organisers and celebrators (celebrants?). The day provided
us with a comprehensive soak-test of the Lynchbox,
which performed admirably, as did the Karaoke performers at
the festival and the belly dancers (very effective on radio).
Ex-Arrow broadcaster Marama Fox pulled off a virtuoso
act as MC and frequent Karaoke Queen.
