I’m delighted to be able to bring you a programme dedicated to the music I love and have performed as a professional musician for the past 44 years (and counting). Jazz has developed since its early days into a true world art form and brings together players the world over to perform in this melting pot of creativity and musical excellence. Each week I bring a varied selection of the very best tracks to highlight the depth and detail of this highly demanding genre. I hope you can join me on Mondays from 12-1.30pm
About Me
I’m a professional saxophones/woodwinds player and have played the world over for the last 44 years. Based in many major cities such as London, New York, Monte Carlo, Cologne and Geneva as a session musician I’ve been fortunate to have backed artists like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Chaka Khan, Barry White, Diana Ross, Michael Ball, Donna Summer, Shirley Bassey and many more. I’ve lived in NZ for the past 20 years with my Kiwi wife Chris. We have 2 children Olivia and Tom. In NZ I have appeared on many TV shows including the complete 5 series of Dancing With The Stars for TVNZ. I’ve appeared as a guest artist on over 30 albums since being in NZ three of which won the Tui NZ Jazz Album of the year. I have toured extensively throughout NZ with many well known artists such as Sir Howard Morrison and Dame Malvina Major. I also taught at both Massey and Victoria Universities as the Saxophones/Woodwinds Jazz Artist for 8 years with both degree and post graduate students. I play regularly as a member of the Orchestra Wellington for concert and theatre shows. I have been an endorser for several Saxophone companies and work often in Asia promoting them. My work in NZ is based around freelance recording for a variety of international clientele from my recording studio at home in Greytown.
