Healthy local food production and thus organic and eco production systems are in many people's consciousness after lockdown. Simply Organics aims to inspire you and create a passion for a simple organic lifestyle. All the people involved in this programme have personal experience and involvement in growing and living the Organic lifestyle. This programme is about the simple things you can do when you plant and work with nature using organic methods. We welcome your questions on Organic and ecosystems development.
Claire Bleakley and her husband Patrick have an Organically certified (OFNZ) small lifestyle farm in Featherston. They grow food for the family and have a little left over to sell. Claire has been involved in environmental issues for 30 years. She became highly concerned with the detrimental effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, so decided to turn to agroecológicas organic methods. In her professional work as a Homeopath she has seen her patients’ health improve after changing to an Organic diet.
Josje Neerincx, together with her partner Frank van Steensel and grown-up children Sanne, Renske and Jarrod, run the Wairarapa Eco Farm and CSA program, a direct-to-consumer food programme. Their 8-hectare farm started in 1996 on an empty piece of grass and is now home to a community of plants and animals, managed following an adaptive regenerative management programme redesigning land use towards improved quality and inclusiveness. (BIOGRO certified). They have a year-round outreach and guidance program including apprenticeships, internships, regular farm days, workshops, and personal or group guidance programs (on request) inviting other likeminded people on their quest towards genuine progress for life on earth.
