Ara Toi Pathways to Art

About the programme

Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History is the centre of the creative and artistic hub in the region. It has varied and changing exhibitions, from local up and coming artists to internationally recognised names, curated museum exhibits, public programmes and talks that engage locals and visitors alike.

In this new arts show, Ara Toi: Pathways to Art, Becky from Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History will invite an individual along to interview about their work. Each month, Becky will invite an artist who is currently exhibiting at Aratoi, a curator or leader of an art community group to understand more about their art, processes, ideas and projects.

About Becky

Your host, Becky Bateman, has been involved in museums for the last 15 years, and loves sharing her passion about objects, art, science and history. Becky's role at Aratoi is eclectic and varied, from exhibition planning and development, marketing, comms, public programmes and taking the occasional education group. She loves the stories behind objects and art and is always keen to learn something new. Becky put forward the idea of an Aratoi art programme to improve her own and other's appreciation of art and objects through radio and podcasts on the region's best station Arrow FM.
