Programme Information
This bilingual programme in Fijian Language and English aims to be a conduit for serving our Wairarapa Fijian community with local Fijian community news, views, audio and songs of Fiji, as well as information from Fiji and the arc of Melanesia and the Pacific region. Specifically, it serves the youths who make up ‘Luvei Viti’, children of Fiji youths in Wairarapa, Vuvale or Fijian community and families.
Its intent is to serve those who have lived in Wairarapa for a long time, as well as new families or individuals coming to settle in Wairarapa from Fiji. These include professionals, seasonal workers of recognised employers, and those on private contracts from Fiji and the arc of Melanesia in the Pacific Islands.
Radio Viti Wairarapa serves the people through our Vosa vaka-Viti, Fijian language and cultural heritage on air in Aotearoa New Zealand.
