Programme Information

Mahi Tahi Tatou are running a weekly radio programme which will provide information about disability services in the Wairarapa and other inclusive community organisations, interviews and information about up and coming events . Mahi Tahi Tatou also provides a day programme, drop in service, organise social events and provide information, advocacy and support to people with disabilities and their whanau.

About Me

Rebecca is the Coordinator at Mahi Tahi Tatou Charitable Trust which was set up in 2021 by a group of friends who have children and grandchildren with disabilities and were concerned about the lack of opportunities available for their loved ones when they left school/ became adults. The trust is based on the Enabling Good Lives principles of self determination, ordinary life outcomes, mainstream first, mana enhancement and relationship building. The purpose of the Trust is to enable good lives for people with disabilities through education, employment, social and community participation.

Rebecca worked in the education sector for over 20 years as a teacher then principal, and more recently has worked as a Support Worker then Community Support Coordinator in the disability sector. Rebecca has lived experience of disability herself, and has two children with multiple disabilities.
